a presumed starter. Is Jayson Oweh a safe bet to take that other defensive end spot? PRY He's certainly going to be given a chance. You've got some good young guys in Jayson and Adisa Isaac and Smith Vilbert. You've got some guys who are going to push for a lot of playing time and be in the mix. Obviously, Shaka has the most experience. We're thankful for his leadership. He's an every-down guy. He proved that last year. And then I think Jayson is ready to do that. I think Jayson is ready to take on a bunch of snaps. I think we've got a very well- rounded guy in Adisa Isaac who has shown a lot as a young player. We're re- ally excited. And Smith Vilbert's length and size are incredible for the position. So we've got a good group to work with. We're excited about them. And we signed a couple of young guys who we'll give a shot at that spot, too. BWI What do you see as the potential for P.J. Mustipher this season? PRY He's an outstanding young man. And the thing I'm most impressed with is, about a year ago he made a change and just decided that he was going to re- ally make a commitment to being great. It's his goal to be the best D-tackle in this league, and he's worked that way for a solid year now. It's his work ethic at prac- tice, it's his approach at meetings, it's his nutrition, it's every- thing. He's really got a lot of maturity. And he's very driven to be the best, so I'm very excited about P.J. BWI You have Anto- nio Shelton coming back, but does the depth need to be sorted out at all? PRY Yeah, there are a lot of great can- didates. Antonio has played a lot of big battles, man. And I couldn't be more ex- cited about having him back. Fifth-year senior, strong as heck, great size. I thought we missed him out there at TALKING DEFENSE Parsons was a consensus All- American for the Nittany Lions last season, but Pry be- lieves the junior outside linebacker is capable of tak- ing his game to an even higher level.
