8 ■ THE WOLFPACKER BY MATT CARTER N C State football has added four more commitments to the 2021 recruiting class, including identical twins Cedric and Fredrick Seabrough from Swainsboro (Ga.) High. The 6-4, 215-pounders are three-star tight ends and made their decisions public on July 4, picking NC State over offers from Mary- land, Coastal Carolina and UAB. Swainsboro head coach Scott Roberts said that the two knew their options may be limited by their desire to play together in col- lege, but that did not bother them. "Once NC State was the first one to give them that opportunity to go together and once they knew that opportunity was there, then I don't think they were re- ally worried about it," Roberts said. "There were definitely schools that wanted one and not the other, but they knew that they had the chance to play in the ACC and at NC State together." Cedric notched 58 receptions for 800 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019. On defense, he added 11 tackles (eight solo). Fredrick caught 36 passes for 703 yards and seven scores in 12 games last season, and added 37 tackles (21 solo) and one interception. Both also play basketball, helping Swainsboro win a state title in 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down athletics. Rivals.com ranks Cedric as the No. 82 player in Georgia and No. 35 tight end in the 2021 class, while Fredrick checks in at No. 84 and No. 38, respectively. "When they were young, Fred was a little bit thicker, but now it's tough to tell them apart," Roberts said. "Cedric came into his own faster, but last year Fred really came on, and they really went back and forth. "They are really similar players. What we did was put Fred in at tight end more, but they both have good ball skills. They are very similar outside, and it's really whoever has the hot hand is generally who we try and feed. They are both extremely good players, extremely good kids." Three-star offensive guard Lyndon Coo- per from Carrollton (Ga.) High also joined NC State's recruiting class, announcing on his birthday, July 20. The 6-3, 315-pounder picked the Wolfpack over Syracuse. "Syracuse and NC State were really neck and neck, but it was just the [NC State] coaches and how much they showed they wanted me, the time they spent con- necting with me, [and] the city of Raleigh itself," Cooper stated. "I really felt like NC State was home for me." Carrollton head coach Sean Calhoun praised Cooper's ver- satility, noting he can play any position on the offensive line, and his dependability. "You can depend on him for being a great teammate, you can depend on him in the weight room," Calhoun said. "He's a really good student, almost a 3.4 GPA. You can just depend on him to do his job and to do it to the best of his ability."
