Twenty-four hours ago I woke up hoping and pray- ing for an announcement. We got it. Yes, our players are not opting back in while other teams' best players are. It sucks. But I'd watch the practice squad play a high school team if it meant I could watch this team I love. This season will set us up so nicely for 2021. We'll have quarterback Joe Milton coming back with an established O- line who should be gelling going into winter. Our receivers will be more ex- perienced, and our running back room stacked. We can develop some depth along the defensive line and in the sec- ondary. This is the 2021 team taking their lumps so to speak in 2020. Each year I've heard people complain about how we don't play the talented young guys. "Too much emphasis on seniority." Buckle up. We're about to see the young guys and just like Daxton Hill, Chris Hinton and Zach Charbonnet last year, they could be way better than we realize. Give it a chance and just en- joy what this is. We've had some really talented recruiting classes. Time to get them experience and season them so we can be a force in 2021. DaveG24 • This is basically where I am. Every game we play is a bonus. The actual re- sults of this season are largely irrelevant, and I think that applies to every team. There are just too many uncontrollable variables that will impact things. So I'll just enjoy seeing the young guys and hope for the best. andrewhfine • So wild to watch the pivot from whining about no season, hating on U-M President Mark Schlissel, Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren and ev- eryone else — and in an instant the whining is now focused on not being good enough, players transferring and everything else under the sun. cmfenner • I like the bright-side approach. Es- pecially in 2020, you have to celebrate the small victories in life. Having some form of a season is a plus. It isn't exactly what we'd hoped for, but I'll take it. And based on what we've seen so far this year, we should probably also expect that whatever gets announced is likely going to change a few more times. My neighbor played at West Virginia and described it perfectly. He said he's enjoying each game they actually play because this season is fragile at best. BlueSwede94 • [The Big Ten released] very detailed safety protocols, which is good. Every program knows exactly what it has to do. Hopefully every program does as good a job as Michigan has to this point, and they can get the season com- pleted safely. WolverineGrad00 • I'm glad we'll have football, I'm ex- cited for it. But I'm not expecting it to be anything near a "real" season. So while I'll celebrate the wins, and an OSU win will feel good — I'll be much more inter- ested in the young guys and develop- ment and just be hopeful that we can play all the games. There's no wiggle room for byes either. The Big Ten definitely hurt themselves by waiting. 4thCoast 60 Day Free Trial, Use Code BLUE60
