FLORIDA STATE RUN DEFENSE Just when it looked like Irish sophomore Kyren Williams had emerged as the feature back for Notre Dame after rushing for 112 yards and com- piling 205 all-purpose yards in the season opener against Duke, the production torch was passed to junior tailback C'Bo Flemister in week two against USF. He responded with 127 yards on 13 carries — a 9.8-yard average — and a touchdown. Kelly celebrated the depth at this position in the preseason, and his high praise is turning into big production. Notre Dame can run four and even five backs at opposing defenses, a nice luxury as future COVID-19 quarantines loom.
