of the more under-recognized players on this list. Despite having to sit out much of his sophomore year, he still topped 20 receptions and averaged more than 26 yards per catch. The 5-11, 175-pound Ivey is the best receiver prospect to come out of the Lancaster-Lebanon League since Corey Jones in the mid-1990s. Jones went on to play for Penn State, and the Lions are believed to be the favorites for Ivey, too. He has 12 scholarship o:ers, with Arizona State and West Virginia said to be in the mix. Those schools won't have to wait too much longer to 9nd out his choice; he plans to make an announce- ment on Nov. 18. SAMUEL BROWN Brown is rated the No. 2 running back in Pennsylvania's Class of 2022 behind Singleton. The 6-1, 195- pound Brown has 20 o:ers. Among the schools that are battling for his signa- ture are Arizona State, Duke, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, Rutgers, Tennessee, Vir- ginia Tech, West Virginia and Wiscon- sin. Penn State hasn't extended a scholarship o:er, but that might change in the months ahead. ABDUL CARTER Carter is one of four linebacker prospects from the Philadel- phia area who have received o:ers from Penn State, joining White, Talley and Johnson. At 6-3, 210 pounds, he will most likely play the Will outside line- backer position in college. He reportedly has received 14 scholarship o:ers. Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Pitt and West Virginia are among the schools that are pursuing Carter. BEAU PRIBULA Pribula has received a three-star rating from Rivals and is the 13th-best overall prospect in Pennsylva- nia's Class of 2022. The 6-2, 202-pound dual-threat quarterback announced for the Nittany Lions on Aug. 3, choosing them over Nebraska, Northwestern, Connecticut and Old Dominion. ANTHONY SMITH I consider the 6-6, 270-pound Smith to be this class's sleeper prospect. The Shippensburg standout plays in a part of the state that is not known for pro- ducing Football Bowl Subdivi- sion prospects but was an All-Area selection and 5A All- State choice following the 2019 season. He totaled 73 tackles and nine sacks as a sophomore and could grow into a 290- pound defensive tackle at the college level. Smith has 14 scholarship o:ers, with Penn State, Nebraska, West Virginia, Syracuse, Michigan State, Pitt and Iowa State leading the way. One 9nal note about Pennsyl- vania's Class of 2022: The WPIAL has just one player currently ranked among the state's top 20 for the Class of 2022. That player is Sean Fitzsimmons, a 6-3, 270-pound defen- sive tackle from Central Valley in Monaca. That's a big change from years past. The WPIAL has frequently been a major factor in Penn State's in-state re- cruiting e:orts, but during the 2022 cycle, southeastern Pennsylvania will be the focal point. ■ YOUTH MOVEMENT Singleton has 28 offers and is considered by some ana- lysts to be the best running back prospect to emerge from Pennsylvania since Miles Sanders in 2015.
