DECEMBER 2020 THE WOLVERINE 27   MICHIGAN FOOTBALL Defense and special teams analyst Aashon Larkins is currently working with the safeties. "We've adjusted as best we can," Harbaugh added. U-M's starting safeties, senior Brad Hawkins and sophomore Dax- ton Hill, have produced early in the season. Hawkins, a second-year starter, leads the team with 31 tack- les through four games, while Hill is fourth on the squad with 28 and leads all players with 20 solo stops. Hill has also been excelling in cover- age, allowing the receivers he has guarded to notch just six receptions for 55 yards on 13 targets. " T h e y ' re b o t h g re a t g u y s , " Hawkins said of Shoop and Larkins. "Coach Shoop is a great coach. He taught me a lot. Coach Lark is teach- ing me a lot. They're two different kinds of coaches, they both have their strengths and I've learned a lot from both of them. I'm continuing to learn from Coach Lark, and that's just what it is right now." — Clayton Sayfie COACHES REMAIN BULLISH ON SOPHOMORE TIGHT END ERICK ALL After showing great promise in practice the last two years, sopho- more tight end Erick All got off to a rough start this season. He dropped four passes in the first three games, including one sure touchdown in the opener at Minnesota, despite being one of the most reliable pass catchers from Sundays through Fridays. Tight ends coach Sherrone Moore said he felt All was pressing, admit- ting it had probably become mental. "I think it's really just him focus- ing on the ball, seeing it in all the way. But it can get into your head," Moore explained. "Any competitor, just like a basketball player when you miss a free throw, you think about that, keep thinking about it. Us as coaches continue to build his confidence, keep his confidence. "For him, really, it's a real simple fix. It's an eyes problem we've talked about. He's made some of the most spectacular catches in practice we've seen. Shoot, he made another one [a day earlier]. It's really a focus on where his eyes are when the ball comes his way." One of the team's best blockers, All has gotten himself too amped up at times this season, Moore con- tinued, putting a lot of pressure on himself to be great. Having wit- nessed what his sophomore is ca- pable of, the coach has continued to display confidence in his player 's abilities. Even after All dropped a pass Nov. 7 at Indiana to end a drive, Moore told him they'd be coming OFFENSE Pos. No. Name Ht. Wt. Yr. WR 8 Ronnie Bell 6-0 190 Jr. 19 Mike Sainristil 5-10 183 So.
