What's the big- gest difference between playing the three position on the wing and the four, which is more in the post? "That's the sacrifice you make. A scorer like that [Boyd], you want to play with her. It's dif- ferent. I'm excited, but it's defi- nitely different. "Defensively, I don't want to say it's going to be a challenge, but it will be. I was used to guarding the post, and they didn't move like a guard. Now I will have to defend a guard and know when we're doing pick on-ball [defense]. "I'm not really worried about it offensively. The defensive part is my biggest concern because I know that's how you win games." It sounds like you will have to expend more energy on the de- fensive end with the position change because you'll be guarding quicker guards. What have you been doing conditioning-wise to help prepare for that? "I've just tried to focus on the little things, and I've been asking Coach Moore for advice on what I can do to get better. This sum- mer, it was hard because of COVID conditioning-wise. "I've just tried to focus on going hard on sprints when Coach Moore runs us in practice. That's really the best you can do, just trying to push yourself, even when you don't want to push it. "I've tried to get in shape as much as Jakia Brown-Turner. It's crazy because she's a sophomore, but I'm going to her for help since she's an experienced guard and this is my first year doing it. We all help each other." It seems that Reynolds Coli- seum provides a tremendous home court advantage with how loud and passionate NC State fans get during games. At least to begin the season, there will be no fans present — how do you feel about playing in front of no crowd? "I'm kind of in between. Unfortunately, we can't have fans for now. I would love to have them, the atmosphere is amazing with them. Considering the circumstances that we're in, I definitely un- derstand the reason to keep us all safe. "We just have to look at it as if it's practice. That's my approach, as if it's a scrimmage or practice, and no one's there except a little family. "I'm going to miss the atmosphere of Reynolds when it's really loud, the game is close and the fans are screaming. I'm definitely going to miss that." — Justin H. Williams 1. Favorite musical artist?
