football recruiting and the No. 93 overall prospect in the 247Composite (a combination of the major recruiting rankings). That puts him slightly ahead of future teammates Quenton Nelson (135th overall), Sam Mustipher (142nd) and Jimmy Byrne (228th). Notre Dame and offensive line coach Harry Hiestand are well on their way to stockpiling back-to-back blue-chip groups of linemen. The 2013 class included five highly touted prospects in the offensive trenches. Lemming said that type of consistency bodes well for the future of the Irish offense. "I think they're going back to their glory days of Joe Moore in the mid80s to late-80s when Notre Dame dominated at offensive line," he said. "They haven't been back there in 20some years. "With this year 's class and last year's class, and then [senior tackle] Zack Martin maybe going in the first round next year, I think Harry Hiestand has everything going for him as far as a recruiting offensive line coach is concerned." The Irish are still hunting for one or possibly two more recruits along the offensive line including the nation's top offensive guard, Braden Smith, and Jamarco Jones of Chicago's De La Salle Institute, the No. 48 overall prospect in the country. Bars said he looks forward to battling for playing time with a deep group when he arrives on campus a little more than a year from now. "It'll be great to have other linemen in my class," he said. "I'm actually glad that there's a bunch of other linemen to compete with." ✦
