High School in the

changing decision,

I radar screens this fall, earning scholar-
ship o=ers from Duke, Maryland, South
Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, among
others. He committed to Duke in October
but decided to switch to Penn State a>er
getting to know Franklin and wide re-
ceivers coach Taylor Stubble town with a
scholarship o=er.
The Nittany Lions
were among his
favorites throughout his recruitment, al-
though late o=ers from Clemson and LSU
gave him something to think about. Duke
and Tennessee were also in the mix.
Dinkins earned an o=er from Penn State
this past February. A Fabulous 22 selec-
tion by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he
visited Penn State two times. Boston Col-
lege and Pitt proved to be the top com-
petitors, but he eventually wrapped up his
recruitment this past October. Bruce was
the opposite, committing to the Nittany
Lions way back in October 2019. An All-
Pennsylvania selection by the Patriot-
News in both 2019 and 2020, Bruce
earned 10 scholarship o=ers and chose
Penn State over Virginia Tech and West
Virginia. He's expected to be an interior
o=ensive lineman.
The defensive side of the ball features
four four-star players in linebacker Kobe
King and defensive backs Kalen King,
Jaylen Reed and Zakee Wheatley. Kalen
and Kobe King are twin brothers from
Cass Tech in Detroit. Both earned more
than two dozen scholarship o=ers over the
past two years, and the Nittany Lions ul-
timately beat out Wisconsin and Michigan
for the pair. Kalen, who sits within the Ri-
vals250, is expected to play cornerback,
while Kobe is a middle linebacker.
Reed is also from Detroit, where he
played for one of
Cass Tech's rivals,
Martin Luther King.
Earning an o=er back
in February 2019,
Reed was only able to
visit Penn State one
time in January
2020, but it proved to
be enough in the end,
as Reed committed
to the Lions in April.
Playing both line-
backer and safety, he
totaled 187 tackles
the past two seasons.
Maybe even more
impressive, he forced
12 fumbles in 24
games. He'll play
safety at the next
level.
Wheatley is also expected to play safety.
A native of Maryland, he attends Arch-
bishop Spalding in Severn, having earned
an o=er in June 2019. Wheatley took four
total visits to State College before com-
mitting this past April. Maryland, North-
western, Virginia and Wisconsin were a
few of his top schools. He was also se-
lected to represent Maryland in the Big 33
next spring.
Penn State also signed three-star
prospects Rodney McGraw, Jamari Buddin

State's class, committing in early De-
cember. Tengwall (right) is the class's
highest-rated member, coming in at
No. 38 in the Rivals250. The class was
never able to gather in person due to
the pandemic, so Penn State did a
photo op in the stadium featuring
cardboard cutouts.
