JANUARY 2021 THE WOLVERINE 27   MICHIGAN FOOTBALL who began the year playing on the interior before bump- ing out to end after injuries hit the position group, notched 21 tackles, with three for loss and two sacks. Hawkins was U-M's fourth-leading tackler with 39 stops, while Barrett finished third with 44 tackles. Offensively, redshirt sopho- more running back Hassan Haskins (coaches and media), and redshirt junior offensive lineman Andrew Stueber (me- dia) were named honorable mentions. Haskins led the Michigan back- field with 375 rushing yards on 61 carries. He averaged 6.1 yards per rush and scored a team-high six touchdowns. He concluded the year with consecutive 100- yard performances against Rut- gers (111 yards) and Penn State (101). He is just three rushing yards shy of 1,000 for his career. Stueber was part of an offen- sive line that helped pave the way for some of Haskins' big games while also protecting the quarter- back. According to Pro Football Fo- cus (PFF), Stueber took no penalties and gave up just four pressures all season, with one sack allowed. He was awarded a pass-blocking grade of 80.8 from the outlet, which topped all offensive linemen on the team. A versatile piece for position coach Ed Warinner's group, Stueber started the first two games of the season at right guard, but due to injuries across the line he kicked out for starts at right tackle in each of the remaining four contests. He returned this season after suf- fering an ACL injury in training camp that forced him to miss all of the 2019 campaign. A pair of Wolverines were also honored on special teams, with sophomore wideout Giles Jack- son earning second-team All- Big Ten laurels from the media and a third-team notice from the coaches as a punt and kick re- turner, while redshirt junior Brad Robbins earned an honorable mention nod from both the media and coaches. Jackson returned 13 kicks this season, averaging 27.2 yards per return. Against Rutgers, he re- turned the opening kickoff of the second half 97 yards for a score, marking his second career kick return touchdown. The Antioch, Calif., native also averaged 9.0 yards per punt return this season. Robbins punted 23 times on the year, totaling 1,041 yards with a long of 66, averaging 45.3 yards per at- tempt. He placed eight punts inside the 20-yard line and four inside the 10. — Clayton Sayfie Paye, a second-team All-Big Ten pick by the media, has already announced he will leave for the 2021 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be a first-round pick. PHOTO BY LON HORWEDEL U-M will host UNLV during the 2023 season, which now completes its slate for that season, with 12 oppo- nents listed. The game against the Runnin' Rebels will be Sept. 9, sliding between non-conference tilts with East Carolina (Sept. 2) and Bowling Green (Sept. 16). That also means U-M will have its bye for the season Sept. 30, one week after its Big Ten opener at Minnesota and ahead of a rivalry showdown with Michigan State Oct. 7 at The Big House. Michigan and UNLV have only met once, with the Wolverines winning 28-7 at Michigan Stadium in 2015. The Runnin' Rebels finished 0-6 this past season under first-year head coach Marcus Arroyo, continuing their streak of seven straight losing seasons. — Clayton Sayfie 2021 Date Opponent Sept. 4 Western Michigan Sept. 11 Washington Sept. 18 Northern Illinois Sept. 25 Rutgers Oct. 2 at Wisconsin Oct. 9 at Indiana Oct. 16 Michigan State Oct. 30 at Nebraska Nov. 6 Northwestern Nov. 13 at Penn State Nov. 20 at Maryland Nov. 27 Ohio State Dec. 4 Big Ten Champ.
