T
o say that the 2020 college foot-
ball season was different and
unique would be an under-
statement.
Just the fact that it was played and
completed amid the COVID-19 pan-
demic was a victory in itself, and a
testament to dedication, fortitude,
vigilance, and also good fortune.
In addition, much pride could be
taken at Notre Dame with a second
appearance over the past three years
in the four-team College Football
Playoff, a first-ever full conference
season in the sport, and the conquest
of a No. 1-ranked team (Clemson) for
the first time in 27 years.
Unfortunately, as different and
unique as it all was, the 2020 Fighting
2020 BGI AWARDS
Reviewing the top performers from a regular season
of much triumph and another postseason of reality
Running back Kyren Williams went from four carries as a freshman in 2019 to a 1,125-yard rusher with 13 touchdowns as a sophomore this fall.
