Hackenberg has contributed to 12 shutouts on the backline for the Lions. MEN'S VOLLEYBALL Penn State was ranked 3rst in the preseason edition of the 2021 EIVA coaches poll released Jan. 11. The Nittany Lions received 3ve of six 3rst-place votes to top the poll, with NJIT receiving the only other 3rst-place vote. George Mason was picked third, Saint Francis fourth, Charleston 34h and Sacred Heart sixth. Penn State's 2020 season ended with an 11-8 overall record and a 7-0 mark in EIVA play. The season was halted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Nittany Lions, who return 12 play- ers from last year's team, were ranked 11th in the nation in the NVA/AVCA DI- II preseason coaches poll.
