Postponed SCORECARD T H E M A I N E V E N T WRESTLING BIG TEN TOURNAMENT T I M E S T B A | M A R C H 6 - 7 | U N I V E R S I T Y P A R K , P A . | B T N This choice is a little bit i.y, no doubt about it. The Big Ten wrestling season has been marred by postponements, including four of Penn State's -rst seven scheduled dual meets, so it's pretty clear that nothing can be taken for granted. But as of this writing, the Big Ten Wrestling Tournament was still set to take place at Penn State in early March. And if the league is able to bring its main event to University Park as sched- uled, it'll be a very big deal indeed. As of this writing, six of the top 10 teams in the NWCA coaches poll were from the Big Ten. That included top-ranked Iowa, followed by Michigan (second), Penn State (third), Nebraska (eighth), Minnesota (ninth) and Illinois (10th). As those rankings indicate, the Nittany Lions probably won't be fa- vored to claim the conference title. If they're back at full strength a/er a COVID-re- lated pause, the Hawkeyes will be the favorites at both the conference and national tournaments. The NCAA championships, which are slated to take place March 18-20 in St. Louis, feel every bit as tenuous as the Big Ten tourney, but it's always good to have hope. So let's hope that the sport is able to pull o. a real postseason a/er last year's NCAA tournament was scrapped just days before it was set to begin. And while we're at it, let's hope that the Big Ten gives Penn State another shot at hosting before its usual spot in the rotation comes up again. It's a shame to see one of the great events in college wrestling -nally come to one of the sport's greatest venues at a time when fans can't watch in person. –M.H.
