Join today at go.ncsu.edu/AAMembership #HowlBack PACK PERFORMERS Kylee Alons, Swimming The junior from Fort Collins, Colo., repeated as the 50 freestyle ACC champ when she won the race in 21.78 seconds in Greensboro, N.C., during the conference meet Feb. 17-20. Alons, who already held the program's second-fastest 50 free time ever, set a new school mark for the 100 butterfly in Greensboro, finishing in third place. She was also part of four second-place relays, three of which set new school records for the Wolfpack. Alexis Galarneau, Tennis In a high-profile ACC showdown, Galar- neau — a fifth-year senior from Laval, Quebec, ranked No. 7 in singles nationally — routed No. 6 Richard Ciamarra from Notre Dame in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1, on Feb. 21. In dual matches through Feb. 22, Galarneau was 5-1 competing at No. 1 singles, with his one defeat a three-set loss to No. 9 Trent Bryde of No. 12 Geor- gia. Galarneau's win over Ciamarra was his third victory versus a ranked opponent so far this season for the No. 17 Pack. Elly Henes, Track & Field After exhausting her eligibility following a stellar career in cross country in 2019, the Cary, N.C., native still had a year left to com- pete in track. Henes is off to a strong start, winning ACC Track Performer of the Week honors on Feb. 10 after her strong outing nine days earlier at the Virginia Beach Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. She set a personal best in winning the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:04.43, the second-fastest time in school history. She also finished second in the 5,000 meters with a run of 15:49.96, the fourth-best time in the NCAA at that point. Isaac Trumble, Wrestling As part of his impressive debut for NC State, the true freshman 197-pounder from Spring- field, Neb., was named the ACC Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 26 after he defeated No. 5 Nino Bonaccorsi of Pittsburgh in a 6-1 decision on Jan. 22. In his next match, Trumble pinned Max Shaw of UNC, his fourth pin in five wins. He extended his unbeaten streak to six with a 6-5 win over Stan Smeltzer from Virginia Tech before suffering his first career defeat.
