APRIL 2021 THE WOLVERINE 37 BY THE NUMBERS 0 Years new offensive line coach Sherrone Moore has guided of- fensive lines in his coaching ca- reer. The former Oklahoma of- fensive guard (2006-07) served as a tight ends coach at Louisville, Central Michigan and Michigan before moving up to handle the full-time blockers this season. 8 Michigan offensive linemen started at least one game last fall, even though there were only six contests played. Injuries caused a significant shuffle, even in a half- slate. 18th Is where the Wolverines tied in the national rankings after allow- ing 1.33 sacks per game last fall. 95th Was Michigan's national rank in rushing yards per game in 2020. The Wolverines averaged 131.5 yards on the ground, which ranked 11th in the 14-team Big Ten. "I'll put my faith in other people. [Former Michigan All-American lineman Jon] Jansen still loves them. Jon knows a ton about O-line play, and he really thinks they did well. Another year of weight room work for Ryan Hayes, who shows some real potential, Karsen Barnhart … everybody who knows anything about line play tells me Zak Zinter is going to be a great one. They've got a lot to prove, but it doesn't look like it's a wish and a prayer that they could be good." — Michigan football sideline reporter Doug Karsch QUOTABLE SPRING SCHOLARSHIP ROSTER No. Name Class Ht.
