toward playing somewhere in the South, but the Nittany Lions are still heavily pushing for the nation's 90th-ranked player overall. He has o9cial visits set with Florida, Alabama and Ohio State, and it's unclear if Penn State will get one of his 7nal two visits. If the Lions aren't able to sign him, it will be the fourth con- secutive year in which they will have missed out on the No. 1 overall player in the state. With that said, the next 7ve prospects could all realistically end up in State Col- lege. Another Philadelphia prospect, cor- nerback Keenan Nelson Jr., has already locked in an o9cial visit to Penn State, and many believe the Nittany Lions are the team to beat with the second-ranked player in the state. Running back Nick Singleton, who ranks third in Pennsylva- nia and No. 126 overall, is also believed to be leaning toward the Lions. In addition to Penn State, he'll take o9cial visits to Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin in June. James Franklin and his sta8 already hold commitments from the fourth- and sixth-ranked players, respectively, in Mehki Flowers of Harrisburg and Ken Talley of Philadelphia. Between those two sits another player they really could land in Denver native and Penn State legacy prospect Ryan Brubaker. Ranked 7:h in Pennsylvania and 149th overall, Brubaker was just in State College in April to tour campus on his own, and he'll return for an o9cial visit the 7rst weekend in June. From there, he'll go to South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Inside linebacker Anthony Johnson ranks seventh overall in Pennsylvania and is committed to Rutgers. At 6-foot-2, 247 pounds, he could end up outgrowing the position at the college level, which is why the Nittany Lions didn't pursue him very hard. Another Penn State commit, York native Beau Pribula, ranks eighth overall, followed by the 7rst player you'll 7nd who doesn't currently hold an o8er from the Lions: wide receiver Kevin Thomas of Philadelphia. Believe it or not, you have to go all the way to No. 10 before you'll 7nd a prospect from the western half of the state. That player is Pittsburgh defensive end Tyreese Fearbry, a four-star edge rusher who has o9cial visits set with Penn State, Auburn, Kentucky and Pitt. There are three other four-star prospects in Pennsylvania. Heading up that trio is future Nittany Lion wide re- ceiver Anthony Ivey, a Lancaster resident who ranks 11th overall. Running back Samuel Brown of La Salle in Philadelphia sits 12th, and he's already committed to Rutgers. Finally, you'll 7nd linebacker Abdul Carter, who also attends La Salle, at No. 13 in the state. Carter has received o8ers from Penn State, Michigan, Ne- braska, Pitt, Tennessee, USC, West Vir- ginia and Wisconsin. With camps soon to restart a:er having been put on hold for more than a year, don't be surprised if a few other players rise to four-star status in the months to come. Philadelphia has two notable play- ers to keep an eye on in defensive back Raleigh Collins and linebacker Keon Wylie, both of whom have Penn State's attention. The sta8 is hoping to get a closer look at both this summer. Shippensburg defensive tackle An- thony Smith is another player to watch. At 6-5, 270 pounds, Smith has the kind of athleticism that could take him to a new level when schools get a closer look at him this summer. ■ NAME POS HT WT RATING HOME SCHOOL Drew Allar QB 6-5 220 ★★★ Medina, Ohio Medina Jerry Cross TE 6-6 220 ★★★★ Milwaukee, Wis.
