Three of those games were partial games where a player left with an injury. Only [fullback] Ben Ma- son and [tailback] Chris Evans (who are niche players) played in all six games. When your NFL talent misses that much of the season, you are in for a world of hurt. That wasn't the only problem last year … but it's not an in- significant part of it either! mdrgoblue • [ESPN's] Todd McShay felt the draft- ing of Evans, [wideout] Nico [Collins] and [defensive end] Kwity [Paye] were some of the best value picks in the draft. olindavisles • I know you can't count [Minnesota defensive back Benjamin] St-Juste and [Cincinnati offensive lineman James] Hudson, but that is two more that started their college careers at Michi- gan and were drafted. They would have made a difference on last year's team as well. Both would have likely been in their second years as starters at impor- tant positions. Beal24 • I knew whoever got [Nico Collins] was going to get a steal. I think he is going to do good in the league. Big body, fast, goes up for the catch, just a playmaker. Wish we got him last year, was really excited for him before COVID. Excited to see what he does at the next level. fourwinns1999 • McShay just called Chris Evans a sleeper pick at this point and wondered out loud, "I don't know how in the world he only got 16 carries last season." thacatalyst • I believe his strength is mostly as a re- ceiver, though at one time he certainly showed some promise running the ball. He might be a good third-down option for the Bengals. ncmaize • I always thought Chris Evans was an NFL talent. It was always a foregone conclusion in my mind. BlueMonster • Regardless of what ESPN says about our coaching staff, let's not forget that he was blessed to get a second chance by Michigan and I think that one year of adversity really helped him. I am super happy for Evans — I hope he does re- ally well in the NFL and I am pretty sure he will build a career in helping others once he is done. hail2michigan • Good for Ben Mason [getting drafted as a fullback by the Baltimore Ravens] … definitely a rarity in today's NFL. skinny_wolverine • I predict he will make the roster and score at least one touchdown this year. Joe Incognito • There are several NFL franchises who I might question their player personnel and draft decisions … very rarely would Baltimore be one of them. RHT47 • Ben Mason will absolutely light someone up on special teams within the next two years, if given the chance. lb3490 Be Heard! Send your letters to: Wolverine Letters • P.O. U-M running back Chris Evans being selected in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals was hailed as one of the top value picks in the NFL Draft by many, including ESPN's Todd McShay.
