>> Md., showed that the weight he added over the winter hadn't cost him any of the quickness and agility that have also been key parts of his skill set since his arrival at Penn State in 2018. "He's moving really, really well," Scott said. "P.J. is going to be a stout guy in there. In this league, when people try to big-boy you, we're going to be able to hold up at the point of contact. And he's also nimble enough to make plays with his feet. So I've been really impressed with P.J. He's working on all the little things and all the minute details of the techniques, and I think it's going to pay off for him. I like the way he's moving, I like the way he's working and I like the way he's leading." His older brother isn't the only inspi- rational person in Mustipher's life right now. In practice, he's been battling one of his Penn State classmates, offensive guard Juice Scruggs. Injured in a 2019 car crash, Scruggs has been through some hard times but appears to have come out stronger after missing an entire season. "He's another guy you have to look at for motivation – having that injury and taking so long to bounce back," Mustipher said. "He never once com- plained, never once hung his head. He just got better." As Mustipher prepares for what looks to be a very promising season with the Nit- tany Lions, his brother will be doing the same while taking part in the Bears' camp in Lake Forest, Ill. A year from now, they could both find themselves in NFL training camps. For now, though, P.J. is watching from a dis- tance and drawing inspiration from Sam's success. "He's one of my biggest motivations, probably the biggest," P.J. said. "When- ever I'm having a bad day or stuff isn't going my way, I think, what would my brother do? He'd go harder, so that's what I'm going to do." ■ F ormer Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib recently became the first ac- tive NFL player to announce he's gay. Nassib, who plays for the Las Vegas Raiders, made the announcement on his Instagram page on June 21. "I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I'm gay," Nassib said in a video. "I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but I finally feel comfort- able getting it off my chest. "I really have the best life," Nassib continued. "I have the best family, friends and job a guy could ask for. I hope you guys know that I'm not doing this for attention. I just think that rep- resentation and visibility are so impor- tant. I actually hope that one day, videos | Nassib becomes first active NFL player to announce he is gay GRAND FINALE Nassib became a draft-wor- thy player with an out- standing senior season in which he led the country with 15.5 sacks.
