Artis of St. Francis Prep in New York also announced his commitment on Inde- pendence Day. Artis, who holds a four- star rating, took his o!cial visit June 11-13. Auburn and Virginia also hosted him for o!cial visits last month. "I think I made a great choice," Artis said. "To be honest, I see such a good [football program] that they have, but it's also a good school as well. It's great for ac- ademics, a great football organization and a really nice campus. But I just got a great feel for all the coaches while I was there." The third prospect to commit on July 4 was defensive end Tyreese Fearbry from Perry Traditional Academy in Pittsburgh. Fearbry was believed to be leaning toward Pitt throughout most of the spring and into June, but he returned from his o!cial visit to Penn State on the weekend of June 18-20 feeling strongly about the Lions, calling his trip a "mind-blowing experi- ence." "I decided to pick the Nittany Lions be- cause they have a great support system," Fearbry said. "I feel like I can really de- velop there for the next four years." Auburn and Kentucky also hosted Fear- bry in June, and he totaled 19 verbal schol- arship o9ers. Just like Durant and Artis, he holds a four-star rating from Rivals. Even before July 4, Penn State was on a roll, with Lackawanna o9ensive lineman J.B. Nelson committing on July 2 and Philadelphia native Keon Wylie joining him the next day. Wylie is a three-star linebacker who plays at Imhotep Charter. He earned 29 scholarship o9ers and took o!cial visits to Penn State, Pitt and Kentucky. "I just really connected with their coaches well and I like how they plan to use me in their defense," Wylie said. "I was the only linebacker up there for my [o!cial visit], so when we did the posi- tion meeting, I got a lot of time with Coach [Brent] Pry." In addition to Pry, graduate assistant Deion Barnes and cornerbacks coach Terry Smith also played big roles in Wylie's decision. If he ends up signing with the Nittany Lions, he'll be the ?rst player from Imhotep to join the roster since Shaka Toney, who was a member of the Class of 2016.
