Rivals.com rankings: Four-star recruit, the No. 6 prospect in the state, the No. 16 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 152 overall player nationally. Colleges: Believed to be favoring North Carolina and Stanford. Scouting report: Spain is long, has a nice frame and shows advanced footwork in pass protection for a high school senior. He will need to get stronger and show more power in his run blocking. 9. Wide receiver Trevion Thompson Durham Hillside High Measurables: Measured 6-2.5 (with shoes on) and 180 pounds at the Washington High Shrine Bowl combine, and ran the 40-yard dash there in 4.50 seconds. Stats: Caught 42 passes for 735 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 9 player in North Carolina, the No. 28 receiver in the country and the No. 192 overall recruit nationally. Colleges: Top schools consist of Clemson, Florida State, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State and West Virginia. Scouting report: The best word to describe Thompson is smooth. He runs effortlessly, although he is not blazing fast. Thompson has long arms to go with his good height, and he is shifty enough in the open field to make tacklers miss. 10. Wide receiver De'Andre Thompkins Swansboro High Measurables: At the Shrine Bowl combine held at South Johnston High, Thompkins was 5-11 and 159 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds and the shuttle in 4.41 seconds, did 10 bench press reps at 185 pounds and had a 9-1 standing broad jump. Stats: Rushed 175 times for 1,359 and 10 scores, caught four passes for 96 yards, returned five kickoffs for touchdowns and made 42 tackles as a junior. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 12 player in the state, the No. 32 wideout in the country and the No. 233 overall recruit nationally. Colleges: Verbally committed to Penn State in April. Scouting report: Thompkins would remind NC State fans of former wide receiver/kick returner Tobais Palmer. They both are smallish high school running backs that cannot only fly, but are quick and able to make defenders miss in the open field. Both are also dangerous kickoff returners. Thompkins may be the best at returning kicks in the state and is also able to play corner. 11. Wide receiver Braxton Berrios Raleigh Leesville Road High Measurables: At the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour stop in Charlotte, Berrios measured 5-9 and 180 pounds. Stats: Accounted for 1,142 rushing yards, 766 receiving yards and 32 total touchdowns as a junior. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 13 player in the state and the No. 39 wide receiver nationally. Colleges: Top five consists of Clemson, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. Scouting report: Berrios is undersized, but he is tough and fast enough to separate from defenders in the open field. Berrios is a big-play threat with the ball in his hands. He is fearless and plays with a swagger. 12. Tight end Jeb Blazevich Charlotte Christian Measurables: Listed at 6-5 and 240 pounds. Stats: Caught 30 passes for 379 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 7 recruit from the state of North Carolina, the No. 7 tight end nationally and the No. 176 prospect in the country. Colleges: Verbally committed to Georgia in April. Scouting report: Blazevich has a lot of traits that make him an attractive tight end: he moves well for the position, has a great frame, possesses soft hands and is difficult to tackle. He is not a great athlete, and he will not make defenders miss, but he should be a weapon as an every-down tight end. 13. Quarterback Wil Grier Davidson Day Measurables: Checked in at 6-2 and 177 pounds at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour stop in Charlotte. Stats: Completed 330 of 422 passes for 5,826 yards with 69 touchdowns and just six interceptions as a junior. Also ran 92 times for 813 yards and eight scores. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 3 recruit in North Carolina, the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback nationally and the No. 29 overall player in the country. Colleges: Verbally committed to Florida in December. Scouting report: Grier's numbers are imposing, and he accumulates them with his smarts (son of a coach), instincts and natural abilities. Grier has a lively arm that can make most of the throws and is a good athlete for the position. However, he has a small frame for a quarterback, and he is older than the average senior, which causes concern about how much bigger he can get. He has also been inconsistent with his throwing at the top camps, and it's worth noting that he plays in one of the lowest levels of competition in the state. 14. Linebacker Germaine Pratt High Point Central Measurables: Listed at 6-3 and 200 pounds. Stats: Notched 94 tackles, six interceptions and four passes broken up as a junior. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, the No. 8 talent in the state, the No. 16 safety nationally and the No. 189 overall player in the country. Colleges: Verbally committed to NC State in June. Scouting report: Pratt has a lot of potential. He plays safety in high school, but athletically speaking is better off moving to linebacker for college.
