The Best Of The Rest 1. Emily Weiman, Softball — The first ACC Pitcher of the Year in program history broke the school record of former All-American Abbie Sims with 33 wins, which ranked fourth nationally, and she was named the MVP of the ACC Championships after she allowed just one run in 21 innings. The sophomore led the ACC in wins, appearances (54) and innings pitched (3231⁄3), and she set school records in all three, plus games started (52), complete games (42) and games finished (12). 2. Hannah Hopkins, Diving — She wrapped up her career with her second consecutive All-America honor on the platform dive, which was preceded by a silver medal in the event at the ACC Championships and a gold one at the Zone B Qualifying Meet. Hopkins also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the three-meter dive. 3. Megan Cyr, Volleyball — The former Colorado transfer finished her three-year career in Raleigh with a banner campaign that included All-ACC and American Volleyball Coaches Association honorable mention All-America laurels. She played every point during her three seasons at NC State and had at least 1,000 assists in each season. As a senior, she notched 1,234 assists and a .339 attack average, which paced the team, in addition to notching 110 kills, 86 blocks, 284 digs and 19 service aces. 4. Renada Davis, Softball — The shortstop improved on an incredible debut campaign, hitting .305 and setting school records with 26 home runs, 146 total bases, a .768 slugging percentage, 50 runs scored and 51 RBI. The Tomball, Texas, native also improved in the field — going from 20 errors to just six — and earned her second consecutive All-ACC first-team certificate. Her home run total ranked third in the country. 5. Marissa Kastanek, Basketball —The senior guard was named first-team All-ACC by the league coaches and was also named the 2013 Leader of the Pack. After she averaged 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, the two-time Academic All-American claimed the H.C. Kennett Award, which is annually presented to the Pack's top male and female athletes, while she was also named ACC Kay Yow Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second straight season. 6. Joanna Thompson,Track and Field/Cross Country — The sophomore earned All-ACC and all-region laurels during the fall on the cross country course for the second straight campaign, and then added second-team All-America honors in the spring for the 10,000-meter run. 7. Tremanisha Taylor, Track and Field — Taylor became the first athlete in school history to earn All-America honors in the shot put when she nabbed a second-team mention after finishing the NCAA Championships in 15th place. The redshirt sophomore, who is a two-time All-ACC performer, also won the event at the prestigious Penn Relays. 8. Joelle Kissell, Tennis — The junior played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in every match this year while helping the Pack reach the NCAA Tournament as a team. She finished the season ranked as the nation's No. 58 singles player and went 18-13 on the year, including a 14‑6 mark in dual matches and eight victories over ranked opponents. The two-time All-ACC selection also took part in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second straight year. 9. Stephanie Ouellette, Gymnastics — The EAGL floor exercise champion tied for second at the conference championships in the all-around and was named first-team All-EAGL on the vault, floor and all-around. The junior finished tied for sixth in the all-around at the NCAA Regional, was named team MVP by the league and recorded a team-best nine first-place finishes. 10. Brittany Marchand, Golf — The junior, along with sophomore Augusta James, repeated on the All-ACC squad for the second consecutive campaign after she paced the squad with four top-10 finishes, including a runner-up at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge.
