Football 2013 The redshirt sophomore recorded 43 tackles, a team-high eight passes broken up and three interceptions while playing nickel back, and he is expected to taken on a full-time starting role this fall. 13. DE Art Norman The redshirt junior is probably NC State's best pass rusher. Through two years he has produced 12.5 sacks, 18.5 tackles for losses and an astounding 58 quarterback hurries. With a strong defensive tackle tandem, Norman should get some opportunities to get one-on-one matchups off the edge this fall. Like McGill, Norman is credited with being one of the leaders of the defensive line. DE Darryl Cato-Bishop Cato-Bishop is a fifth-year senior and one of the most experienced defensive linemen on the roster. He has 22 career starts to his credit, and over the past two years has piled up 10.5 sacks. If Cato-Bishop and Norman can pick up some of the changes in the defensive schemes, they should give the Pack a solid defensive end tandem to go with the inside duo. 15. WR Quintin Payton Receiver was a big question mark last season, but Payton, a fifth-year senior, helped answer it, starting with the opener against Tennessee when he caught four passes for 129 yards. He finished the year with 51 receptions for a team-high 798 yards and two touchdowns. At 6-4, 211 pounds, Payton will be an attractive target for whoever starts at quarterback, especially since State may utilize more quick passes than in the past. 16. C Joe Thuney Two offensive players touch the ball on every possession: the quarterback and center. After three years of having Camden Wentz handle the snapping, Thuney is expected to take over the role. Thuney, a redshirt sophomore, got a taste of action last season, including a careerhigh 49 snaps in the upset win over No. 3 Florida State. 17.
