I'm just making that a priority for our team. … If you can get the bonus points, we've got to go for it because it pays off in the long run." Combine what looks to be a full season this year with goals that weren't quite met the past two seasons, and the ingre- dients for success are apparent, Brooks said. "I think our team is really hungry," he said. "Out team has been working hard. Just for me, looking around the room and seeing the work that these guys are putting in and the skills that they're trying to ob- tain, it's really motivating for me as well." Because of his successful background, Brooks is charged with being one of the team leaders, something he embraces. "I try to just come into practice every day with a smile on my face … let people know this is our passion, it's what we love to do," Brooks said. "If guys need me, they can reach out. Just being that guy on the team [is im- portant] — setting that kind of tempo in the room every day and raising the energy and letting people know we're not going to do this as a job. We're blessed to be able to come do this every day." ■ PENN STATE 2021-22 ROSTER NAME WT. ELIG. HOMETOWN HIGH SCHOOL 2020-21 SEASON Robert Howard 125 So. Cranford, N.J.
