Meeting with the media im- mediately after Penn State's 28-0 victory over Rutgers on Nov. 20, head coach James Franklin wanted to deliver a message. The win gave the Nittany Lions a much-needed boost in a sea- son gone wrong, and Frank- lin intended to elaborate on the comments he had made a few days earlier to an au- dience of boosters that he wasn't "going anywhere." But after months of spec- ulation during which his name was attached to head coaching vacancies at LSU and Southern Cal, he found himself having to ask reporters for a touch more patience. "I made that statement [to the boosters] because I thought something was going to happen a little bit sooner," he said. "I've tried to tell you guys before, these things are much more complicated than just a simple yes-and-no answer.
