Under the Dome Top of The Class Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Ellie Hilling — Sr., Women's Lacrosse The senior goaltender finished her collegiate career by winning Most Valuable Player honors at the IWLCA North-South All-Star game this summer. The Rochester, N.Y., product played the second half in net for the North team and made seven saves to spark a 9-8 victory. Irish teammate Jenny Granger scored the game-winning goal. Hilling set career program records for wins (44), saves (528) and games played (71) during her four years as a starter for Notre Dame. Logan Renwick — Jr., Men's Track & Field The Irish long jumper is the eighth Notre Dame athlete to make the Capital One Academic All-America team during the 2012-13 school year. Renwick made the second-team list after finishing in third place in the long jump at the Big East Championships this spring. He covered 7.62 meters to make the All-Big East team. He also holds a 3.89 GPA in mechanical engineering. Since the award started in 1952, 231 Notre Dame athletes have been named Academic All-Americans. Jennifer Kellner — Jr., Women's Tennis The two-time All-Big East selection won the conference's ScholarAthlete Sport Excellence Award for tennis in the 2013 season. The award goes to one player from each sport annually for success in athletics, academics and in volunteering. Kellner won six of her final nine singles matches to help the Irish to a sixth straight Big East title. Her 67 career singles victories and 69 doubles victories are the most among all returning players for the upcoming year. Abby Meyers — Sr., Women's Rowing As Notre Dame's coxswain for the past three seasons, Meyers led the charge to three straight Big East titles for the team. She won the league's Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award for rowing this spring, making her one of five Irish athletes to do so (tops in the Big East). Meyers made the Central All-Regional team in 2013 thanks to her work on the Irish varsity eight boat.
