What play stuck out as a big error for you? "I saw a cloud corner wrong and I threw a pick. And a couple in the red zone, I'm often-times forcing the issue, trying to make the big play. Obviously everyone is trying to impress the coach and compete and sometimes I'm trying to make the big play when it's not open and I have to face the fact that it's not open and throw the checkdown rather than force the deep ones." O'Connor Chalk Talk If Saturday is going to be the first time you have ever seen O'Connor play, today on Spartan Plus we will re-run a Chalk Talk we did on O'Connor after his high school summer all-star games in 2012: Five More Notes A handful of other things you need to know prior to Wednesday's player draft: * Dan France is battling a minor ankle tweak. He's up and running around and putting weight on it, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they held him out of the spring game. That's a disappointment because I was very interested in seeing France play guard in a full scrimmage situation. I saw him doing some thud drills during the first two weeks of the spring and I thought he showed plus quickness and agility to go with all that size. I've always viewed him as a solid, functional offensive tackle but I have a feeling he could be a plus player at guard. However, I don't think we'll get a chance to see it on Saturday. * Sophomore WR Aaron Burbridge has been hampered by a minor hamstring injury. That's why he received little or not play during last week's scrimmage. * Sophomore WR MacGarrett Kings also has a minor ankle injury, according to WRs coach Terry Samuel. "Kings is looking good," Samuel said. "He had a little ankle. He catches the ball extremely well. He gets in and out of his cuts extremely well. He can make you miss in a phone booth. But we need him on the field, get him back out there because he needs to be exposed to the offense, get immersed in it, thrown into it, make some mistakes, learn from it, and get better and get it going." * The kicking competition on Saturday is going to be crucial. Walk-on Kevin Cronin has surprisingly jumped ahead of scholarship senior Kevin Muma. Muma can't afford to get out-played by Cronin in the spring finale. Cronin and Muma will compete with incoming high school All-America Michael Geiger this summer and into August.
