* In addition to France being out, junior offensive tackle Skyler Burkland has also been slowed by a tweaked ankle. With those two out, MSU moved Fou Fonoti to right tackle last week, temporarily. With Fonoti on the right side, and France and Burkland out, MSU moved sophomore Donavon Clark to temporary first-string left tackle. And sources indicate that he played well in the first scrimmage. No word yet on how he did in the second scrimmage. But this is what co-offensive coordiantor and tights coach Jim Bollman said to us, exclusively, about Clark in the first scrimmage: "He has really good quickness and power. He is going to be a big factor, no question. He had a pretty good scrimmage last Saturday and caught everybody's eye. He'll certainly be a factor for us up front." Last week's temporary first-string o-line looked like this: LT: Donavon Clark LG: Blake Treadwell C: Travis Jackson RG: Connor Kruse RT: Fou Fonoti The following guys took some reps with the twos. I don't know if this is/was the official second string, but this is how they lined up at the outset of last Tuesday's and Friday's practices: LT: Jack Conklin LG: Zach Higgins C: Kodi Kieler RG: Zach Higgins RT: Henry Conway Also in the picture: Mike Dennis and Derek Hoebing at offensive tackle. Benny McGowan is working to try to break into the makeshift second string. Kyle Lints took some snaps at center. Shawn Kamm is still around. Listen to this week's Skull Session
