the pocket and knowing for sure where guys are going to be in a certain coverage and things like that then I feel like I can do all the things everyone else does." "Every rep I get with the first team I feel like it's a huge progression. Every play is a learning point. Those plays that I mess up on, we get to the film room and make those correction. Everything is slowing down the more I get those opportunities." What do you feel you bring to the table? "I feel like I have that ability to create when things break down. I feel like that is something I have shown the coaches this spring. The other guys have great arms just like I feel like I do so you have to do different things to stick out. That's everyone's goal. I feel like when things aren't going too well I feel like I can make that extra play or extend that play and maybe someone gets open and we can create things." How important do they say the ability to make plays with the feet is? "They stress that a lot. They stress the quarterback run. In the game of football, rarely does it go as plan. You don't always do the five-step and hitch and throw the out. You have to be able to create and extend the play." How do you go about practicing broken plays? "It's definitely hard. Going against a great defense, it happens a lot. There are times when our defense puts us in a bind and you have do something you have never practiced, and that helps you gain chemistry with all the guys." You had a 70-plus TD pass to Tony Lippett during live 11 vs 11 scrimmaging two weeks ago, when media happened to be allowed to watch. Since we witnessed that play, we can ask you about it. What did you see during that play? "It was a play action pass. It's a protection that calls for the quarterback to step up in the pocket because a lot of times the ends come way upfield on this protection. So I stood up in the pocket. We had a postcorner route and we read high to low and Tony beat his guy. We both saw the post, take it high. That's what he did. We were on the same page and it landed right in his lap. "It felt good. Moving up in the pocket I wasn't sure if I put too much on it, but it felt good and turned out good. It's always good to celebrate a 70-yard touchdown." One week earlier, you said that the practice prior to Easter was a sour one for you. Can you elaborate on that? "That wasn't one of my better practices. It kind of hurt to go into the weekend not feeling good about it. I feel as a competitor these plays in practices were digging in my mind all weekend over Easter, and they should. So it wasn't fun stressing over that."
