C O M P enn State picked up its seventh commitment of the 2023 recruit- ing cycle on Jan. 28 when three- star offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh of Aldie, Va., announced plans to sign with the Nittany Lions. Listed at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds, Donkoh brought a quick end to his re- cruitment, committing to PSU only two weeks after visiting campus. The only other school he checked out in person was Virginia Tech, having visited the Hokies for a game in October. Donkoh was just starting to pick up more offers, too, with Liberty and West Virginia join- ing Penn State. To get to know him better, we caught up with Lightridge High head football coach Bobby Eavenson, who has known Donkoh since middle school. BWI: What can you share about Anthony as a person? What is he like around school? BOBBY EAVENSON: What's amaz- ing about Anthony is that when all the coaches have come in to meet him, they always follow up with me afterward, and]they say that all it took was a few minutes to tell what kind of kid this is. He's someone special. It's pretty awe- some. It's the easiest sell of a kid that I've probably ever had as a coach. I've only been the head coach for a few years, but I've been an assistant before. He's just an easy one to push. He's an incredible student. I think he's just above a 3.8 grade-point average. He's not taking basket weaving classes, either. He's taken AP calculus. I think he's already taken AP physics, too.
