BLUEGOLDONLINE.COM MAY 2022 19 play. Angeli dumped it off, and Price and his lead blockers — a bevy of them — did the rest. SCORE: Blue 10, Gold 7. Blue Offense From Own 35, 8:41: Blue went three-and-out again. A hold- ing penalty on walk-on tight end Davis Sherwood didn't help the cause. Gold Offense From Own 31, 5:03: It was the Gold's turn to go three-and- out; Price gained two yards on a rush. Selna gained five on a catch. Angeli tried to find Selna again on third-and-3 but couldn't get it there. Blue Offense from Own 28, 2:36: Another Blue drive, another three-and- out. Estime gained four on one carry then lost a yard on another. A Powlus III pass was nearly picked off by early en- rollee freshman Jaden Mickey on third down. FOURTH QUARTER GOLD 13, BLUE 10 G o l d O f fe n s e Fro m O w n 2 2 , 15:00: Angeli found a wide-open se- nior walk-on receiver Conor Ratigan for a gain of 58. Price lost a yard and then senior walk-on running back Chris Velotta only gained two. An An- geli pass intended for junior walk-on wide receiver Griffin Eifert fell incom- plete on third-and-9. Bryan missed another field goal wide right, this one from 37 yards away. Blue Offense From Own 20, 11:53: In his fourth and final possession of the day, Powlus orchestrated a nice drive. Estime helped him tremendously by picking up 36 yards on two carries. Once Blue got into the red zone, Powlus tried to find Colzie. The two connected near the right pylon, but Colzie was out of bounds. Powlus went to Colzie again, but he overthrew him. Osafo-Mensah sacked Powlus on third down. Grupe missed a 40-yard field goal. Gold Offense From Own 22, 4:10: Angeli started what would ultimately become the game-winning drive with a 16-yard strike to Thomas on a bubble screen. Thomas broke a few tackles. An- geli went 8-of-8 passing for 66 yards on the final drive. In addition to Thomas, he found Price, sophomore walk-on fullback Barret Liebentritt, Selna and Ratigan for positive passing plays. An- geli capped the drive and the game with his 10-yard rushing touchdown as time expired.
