Ht.: 5-11 • Wt.: 190 • H e l p e d l e a d H a m m o n d School to three consecutive Class 3 state championships (2019-21) with a combined 36-2 record. • Named all-region as a senior and all-region co- offensive player of the year as a junior. • Rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his three varsity seasons. • Team captain and offensive player of the year as a senior. • Regarded as a three-star recruit in the On3 Con- sensus, ranking as the No. 789 overall player, No. 59 running back and No. 9 recruit in South Carolina. PLAYER BIOS POSITION COACH Mike Hart, Michigan's all-time leading rusher, is entering his second year as the coach of the position group he was a part of from 2004-07. In addition to serving as running backs coach, he also was promoted to run game coordinator this offseason. Under Hart 's mentorship in 2021, Hassan Haskins became Michigan's first 1,000-yard rusher since Karan Higdon in 2018, racking up 1,327 yards and a single-season program-record 20 rushing TDs. In addition to Haskins, Blake Corum regis- tered 952 yards rushing and 11 TDs under Hart last year. A Broyles Award nominee for the nation's top assistant coach in 2018 and a Rivals.com top-25 recruiter in 2019, Hart spent four years mentor- ing Indiana's running backs (2017-20) and was elevated to associate head coach in 2020 after serving as the assistant head coach for a year. He was instrumental in the development of Indiana's running game, with the program gaining 3,583 yards and 41 rushing TDs in 2018-19. Prior to his time in Bloomington, Hart coached Syracuse's ball carriers during the 2016 season and spent two seasons (2014-15) coaching the same position group at Western Michigan. In Kalamazoo, he helped the Broncos earn back- to-back bowl bids for the first time in school his- tory, while guiding a pair of running backs to Mid- American Conference (MAC) Freshman of the Year honors and 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Hart received his introduction into coaching at Eastern Michigan, where he began as an offensive quality control coach in 2011. He was elevated to running backs coach for the 2012-13 campaigns. Hart became a coach immediately following his playing days in the NFL, where he was picked by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 2008 draft. A four-year starter at Michigan, Hart set the pro- gram's rushing record with 5,040 yards on 1,015 carries, while adding 41 rushing touchdowns. He also holds U-M records with 28 career 100-yard rushing games, and an average of 117.2 rushing yards per outing. A two-time Doak Walker Award finalist, Hart fin- ished fifth in the 2006 Heisman Trophy balloting, was a three-time All-Big Ten first-team selection and was named the 2004 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He was the team's most valuable player in 2006 and 2007.
