28 CAVALIER CORNER & VAF NEWS NOTABLES As restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic lifted this past year, the Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) was thrilled to visit a few stops around the Commonwealth for its Spring Social Tour. Following a series of Zoom events in February to virtually intro- duce the Fralin Family Head Football Coach Tony Elliott to all VAF donors, the VAF and Coach Elliott hit the road to meet with do- nors across the Commonwealth in May and early June — Greater Washington D.C. area, Lynchburg, Richmond, Roanoke and Tide- water. More than 700 donors enjoyed meet- ing the new football coach, hearing about spring ball, and learning what to expect from the program this fall. VAF Executive Director Dirk Katstra also shared updates about athletics and the Master Plan. Additionally, Coach Elliott was joined by other sports representatives during each leg of the tour. Head women's basketball coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton joined donors in Greater Washington and Richmond. Dean and Markel Families Men's Head Basketball Coach Tony Bennett joined the tour in Rich- mond, while men's basketball associate head coach Jason Williford was in Greater Wash- ington D.C. area, assistant coach Kyle Getter joined the tour in Lynchburg and graduate assistant Isaiah Wilkins was in Roanoke. Thank you to all the donors who showed support for the VAF and Virginia Sports. The VAF looks forward to planning more socials this fall and will hopefully be back to the full socials schedule by next spring for all members, alumni and fans.
