Graduate student wide receiver Braden Lenzy was next to Mayer and ran a go route, occupy- ing one defender. Mayer ran a crossing pattern, and like Staes, took two North Carolina players with him. PHOTO BY KAYDEE GAWLIK MISCELLANEOUS NOTES • Junior quarterback Drew Pyne set new career highs in pass completions (24), pass- ing yards (289) and passing touchdowns (3) against the Tar Heels. • Junior tight end Michael Mayer is now in sole possession of second place on Notre Dame's all-time receptions (135) and touch- down (12) lists. He needs just 6 receptions and 4 touchdowns to become the all-time leader in both. • Sophomore running back Audric Estime's 134-yard rushing effort marked the first time an Irish player eclipsed the century mark on the ground since Kyren Williams racked up 199 against North Carolina on Oct. 30, 2021. • Sophomore Logan Diggs recorded his first game with more than 100 all-purpose yards, tallying 50 on the ground and 65 on three receptions. His 29-yard touchdown connection from Pyne in the third quarter was the second receiving score of his career. • Sophomore wide receiver Lorenzo Styles' 30-yard scoring reception in the second quar- ter is the Fighting Irish's longest touchdown play of the season thus far. • Senior linebacker Jack Kiser matched his career high with 9 tackles against the Tar Heels. He also recorded nine stops against Marshall in Week 2.
