6 DECEMBER 2022 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED FAN FORUM DON'T BE ALARMED Subscribers of Blue & Gold Illustrated should not be alarmed by the offensive show that Navy put on in the second half of the game against Notre Dame. I say this because, one, a team play- ing against that offense doesn't have enough time in practice to simulate the veer style of play and all the intricacies that are attached to it. Two, the coach- ing staff is young and not familiar with it! Navy is in that offense for one reason, and it is because it is the only offense in football today that give them a chance to compete against teams that have su- perior personnel! The offense allows them to run the ball without blocking all the players at the point of attack! When they are running a play off tackle well, they don't block the tackle — they read him. If he takes the ball car- rier, the QB pulls the ball. The QB now reads the D end — if he takes the QB, the QB pitches the ball to the trailing HB or he can pull and throw to a receiver! They wind up playing with 11 people and you are playing with 9 simply be- cause two players are being read, so no one is blocking them! That is why they can compete with superior teams! He was especially active versus the Eagles, making 5 tackles in 13 snaps played. Looked fast and physical. Ndrulzinwv: He looked bigger than I was expecting. I thought he was more on the small side. Not so much. Exciting to think of how the LB position is gonna look with him, Kollie, Junior and the other studs we've been recruiting. mgormal1: He can add some size but I definitely saw that thud and pop a few times. Boy can hit. CTIrish80: The dude has "SEC" speed @ LB. atrain78255: Exactly. Sneed, Kollie and Botelho could be very scary … they can all hit like trucks. NotreDame22: Excited to see Sneed when he packs on a little muscle and Junior when he cleans his body up a little could be a terrific group when you add Kollie and the others. Merckx: Those first couple hits reminded me of the hits Manti [Te'o] was giving out vs. Nevada in 2009. 50triplethreat: When Sneed came out of nowhere and knocked the crap out of 2 players 1 was the RB … the RB had body language of WTH just hap- pened. Sneed is a dude for sure. BlessedMother: He's going to be a very, very good college and NFL football player. LTIrish5: Sneed moves very similarly to [former Irish and current NFL line- backers] Wu [Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah] and Jaylon [Smith]. bmkhoward: Nuke [Sneed's nickname] and Wu are like clones from what we've seen so far.
