TRACKING THE PACK JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2023 ■ 15 PACK PERFORMERS Diamond Johnson, Women's Basketball Johnson is off to a blazing start as a perimeter shooter. Through NC State's first eight games, the junior guard was leading the ACC with a 53.5 percent shooting average from beyond the three-point arc. Last season's ACC Sixth Player of the Year, Johnson was averaging 14.6 points per game to lead the team heading into a Dec. 5 visit to Georgia. In NC State's 94-81 road win over 10th-ranked Iowa on Dec. 1, the Philadelphia native poured in 22 points to tie sophomore guard Saniya Rivers for the team high. Jarkel Joiner, Men's Basketball Joiner transferred to NC State from Ole Miss in the offseason and has played a big role in the Wolfpack's early offensive success. Through the team's first eight games, the graduate guard was third in the ACC with a 17.3-point scoring average while also ranking 12th in both field goal percent- age (50.5 percent) and assists per game (3.63). Joiner was named ACC Player of the Week after averaging 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in three games at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament Nov. 23-25 in the Bahamas. Jameese Joseph, Women's Soccer After leading NC State with 8 goals and 18 points this season, the senior forward from Beltsville, Md., received third-team All-ACC honors in November. Joseph was tied for the conference lead with 4 game-winning goals, including a shot with just 9 seconds remaining that broke a scoreless deadlock against Campbell on Aug. 25. An ACC All-Freshman honoree in 2019 and a second-team all-conference choice last year, Joseph has 21 goals, 9 assists and 51 points in her career. Conor Kelly, Men's Soccer After a season in which he scored 7 of NC State's 18 goals, the senior midfielder was named to the third-team All-ACC squad in November. A gradu- ate transfer from Duke, where he had played in 54 games over four seasons, Kelly scored 5 goals in the Pack's first three matches, including a hat trick against Wofford on Aug. 29. His scoring total for the season was NC State's highest since Julius Duchscherer tallied 9 goals in 2016.
