TRACKING THE PACK JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2023 ■ 19 Starting next season, fans at Carter-Finley Stadium will get a much-improved look at replays and other announcements. NC State announced that a new videoboard, which will rank among the 10 largest in the country, will be installed in the North End Zone. It will be more than double the size of the current ver- sion, which in recent seasons had deteriorated in quality. The new videoboard will be 43 feet tall and 166 feet wide, with over 6.6 million pixels. For some perspective, that is 6 feet wider than the width of a football field and could fit 789 55-inch televi- sions inside. The current videoboard is 30 feet tall and 88 feet wide, with 1.2 mil- lion pixels. The square feet will go from 2,640 to 7,138. The upgrade will also include a concert-grade audio system, producing one of the loudest and clearest sounds in the country. "Carter-Finley is amazing, but let's be frank, that scoreboard in the North End Zone is on its dy- ing days," Wolfpack Club executive director Ben Broussard noted. "One of the things [athletics director] Boo Corrigan has done since he's been here is every offseason he's found something to make Carter- Finley better. "He added Tuffy's Terrace, he added Raleighwood. He noted that the scoreboard, if we are going to have a world-class ex- perience, needs to be better. If you look around the league, the scoreboard we are about to have is going to be as good as anything in the country. "Once you put that in, plus the lights that Boo had installed last year, you are talking a really good experience." — Matt Carter The new videoboard at Carter-Finley Stadium will be more than double the size of the one it's replacing, and it will come with a concert-grade audio system.
