FORMER WOLVERINES IN THE NBA Through Dec. 18 • Moussa Diabate (Played at U-M from 2021-22), F, Los Angeles Clip- pers Has been up and down between the 18-14 Clippers and the G League, ap- pearing in eight NBA games and aver- aging 4.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per night. • Tim Hardaway Jr. (2010-13), G, Dal- las Mavericks Recently added to the starting lineup and has opened 12 of his 29 games … Averaging 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per night, while shooting 37.6 percent overall and 35.9 percent from three-point range. • Caleb Houstan, (2021-22), G, Orlando Magic Appeared in 21 outings for the 11-20 Magic, posting 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per tilt, while connecting on 36.3 percent of his field goal at- tempts and 35.1 percent of his triple tries. • Caris LeVert (2012-16), G, Cleveland Cavaliers Started 16 of 27 outings for the 20-11 Cavaliers, who stood third in the Eastern Conference … Averaged 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game … Shooting 39.1 percent overall and 34.5 percent from long range. • Isaiah Livers (2017-21), F, Detroit Pistons Hasn't played since Dec. 1 due to a right shoulder sprain … The Detroit Pistons revealed Dec. 16 that Livers aggravated the injury during practice and will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks … He's played in 22 games with seven starts, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest and shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc for the 8-24 Pistons. • Jordan Poole (2017-19), G, Golden State Warriors Recording 19.0 points, 4.6 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game, with 31 appear- ances and 12 starts … Shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from three-point range for the 15-16 Warriors. • Duncan Robinson (2014-18), F, Mi- ami Heat Appeared in 22 tilts off the bench, av- eraging 17.7 minutes per game … Tal- lying 6.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per clash with a 32.0 three-point percentage for the 16-15 Heat. • Franz Wagner (2019-21), F, Or- lando Magic Started all 31 games for the 11-20 Magic, slotting second on the team with 19.6 points per game, adding 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shoot- ing 48.0 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from long range. • Moritz Wagner (2015-18), F/C, Or- lando Magic Made his season debut Nov. 25, after missing the beginning of the season with a sprained ankle … Opened nine of his 13 games for the 11-20 Magic, registering career bests in points (12.3 per night), rebounds (6.6) and assists (2.2) … His 63.2 two-point field goal percentage would rank 11th in the league if he qualified with enough at- tempts. FORMER WOLVERINES IN THE NHL: FIVE STARS OF THE MONTH Through Dec. 18 1. Matty Beniers (Played at U-M from 2021-22), C, Seattle Kraken He's leading all rookies and ranks third on the 17-10-3 Kraken with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists). The 2021 second overall pick currently has the best odds to win the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL's top rookie, at +200. 2. Kyle Connor (2016), LW, Winni- peg Jets He's second on his team and tied for 23rd in the NHL with 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) for the 20-10-1 Jets. He's currently on an 11-game point streak and has a plus-3 rating through 31 outings this season. 3. Quinn Hughes (2017-19), D, Van- couver Canucks He paces the 13-14-3 Canucks with 26 assists in 26 games, with his 1.0 as- sist per outing average ranking tied for fifth in the NHL. Henrik Sedin set the franchise record with 83 assists in a single season in 2009-10, but Hughes is on pace to compete with that mark. He had 60 a year ago, which slots tied for ninth in Canucks history. 4. Zach Hyman (2012-15), C, Edmonton Oilers The 17-14-1 Oilers have one of the league's most high- powered offenses, ranking four th with 3.59 goals per game, and Hyman is a key piece. He's four th on the squad with 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 31 appear- ances. 5. Dylan Larkin (played at U-M in 2015), C, Detroit Red Wings He's pacing the 13-11-6 Red Wings with 27 points, is tied for the team lead with 10 goals and ranks second with 17 assists. ❏ Kent Johnson • NHL The Columbus Blue Jackets standout was featured by NHL.com Dec. 12 as the NHL player under 20 years old with the fifth-most points on the season (14). Trey Burke • NBA The 10-year professional signed with the NBA G League's Stockton Kings Dec. 9, after he was traded from Dallas to Oklahoma City and waived by the Thunder in the offseason. He's appeared in four games, averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per outing.
