The annual talent showcase will feature four former Nittany Lions who played offense last season and three who suited up on defense. A total of 319 players were selected for this year's combine. Penn State will be represented by receivers Mitchell Tin- sley and Parker Washington, tight end Brenton Strange, interior offensive line- man Juice Scruggs, defensive tackle PJ Mustipher, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and safety Ji'Ayir Brown. Two notable Nittany Lion draft hope- fuls absent from the list released Feb. 8 were quarterback Sean Clifford and long snapper Chris Stoll. Clifford was a four-year starter for the Lions who holds multiple program re- cords. He participated in the NFLPA Bowl after capping his college career in the Rose Bowl but was not one of the 15 quarter- backs chosen to attend the combine. Stoll was the winner of the 2022 Patrick Mannelly Award, which goes to the na- tion's best long snapper. Only one snap- per — Central Florida's Alex Ward — was chosen to attend the combine. Clifford, Stoll and the rest of the former Penn State players with pro aspirations who are not headed to Indianapolis will still have a chance to perform in front of pro scouts during the team's annual pro day in March. This year's NFL Scouting Combine will take place Feb. 27-March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium and will be televised by the NFL Network. Mustipher will be the first former Penn State player to appear at the event. He'll begin the orientation and team interview process on Feb. 27. However, his on-field drills are not slated to take place until March 2. Porter and Brown will begin their time in Indy on Feb. 28.
