In addition, during the second week- end in June, Penn State will welcome two prospects who have received three-star ratings from On3: Jamonta Waller, a line- backer from Picayune, Miss., and Xavier Porter, a defensive tackle from Tampa. It should be noted that On3's rating for Waller currently is the lowest of any of the major recruiting sites. He has received five-star grades from two of the four sites in the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average of the grades from the major recruiting services. Penn State is expected to host nine more players the weekend of June 16-18. That includes two of the nation's very best at their positions: wide receiver Jere- miah Smith of Hollywood, Fla., and safety Jaylen Heyward of Rockledge, Fla. Smith is committed to Ohio State and is the No. 1-ranked receiver in the nation. A cousin of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, he is a consensus five-star prospect across all of the major recruit- ing sites. Heyward is committed to Georgia and is the third-ranked safety nationally. He has received four stars in the Indus- try Ranking following a junior season in which he totaled 44 tackles, 8 pass break- ups, 2 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles. It won't be easy to flip either of those players, but Penn State does find itself in a good position with four-star defen- sive lineman Benedict Umeh, who's listed at No. 52 nationally in the On3 Industry Ranking. Last year, the Toronto native en- rolled at Avon Old Farms in Connecticut to advance his football career. He's now one of the most coveted defensive line- men in the nation and has set up official visits to Duke and Stanford in addition to PSU. Academics will play a major role in his decision. The fourth and final weekend, June 23-25, had seven players confirmed as of mid-May, but the list will likely grow in the coming weeks. Four-star offensive tackle Guerby Lambert of West Roxbury, Mass., is the top prospect expected. Listed as the No. 2 offensive tackle nationally and No. 45 overall player in the On3 Industry Rank- ing, he played a key role for Catholic Me- morial High during his sophomore and junior seasons, helping the team go 24-0 and claim back-to-back Division 2 state championships. Prior to starting his official visits, Lam- bert hadn't checked out any schools in person. That has made his recruitment hard to read. In addition to Penn State, he's expected to visit Boston College, Ohio State and Notre Dame. ■ Four-star defensive lineman Benedict Umeh is set to visit the weekend of June 16-18. He's originally from Toronto but has enrolled at the Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut to further his athletic career.
