"Playing college sports, you deal with so much adversity," Ahlering said, reflecting on her UVA career. "Week to week, month to month, you're facing different challenges whether it's playing time, injuries or teammates, and it teaches you how to roll with the punches." While Ahlering has experienced that the business world can be a challenging environment, her time at UVA taught her to be resilient, persistent and how to play the long game, which is her foundation for everything. UVA women's basketball's new head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton shares a unique connection with Ahlering. They were rivals in high school and competed against each other, even one year on the same AAU team. Ahlering remembers Coach Mox as "smart, savvy and a killer com- petitor." She hopes Coach Mox's program will hang some banners in John Paul Jones Arena for ACC championships and make deep runs into the NCAA Tournament in the next five to 10 years.
