JUNE 2023 31 The Virginia Athletics Foundation and the Athletics Academic Affairs Office honored fourth-, fifth- and sixth-year graduating student-athletes on Friday, May 19 at Disharoon Park at Davenport Field. Student- athletes were joined by their families, coaches, faculty and academic advisors for a breakfast event to recognize their outstanding accom- plishments both on and off the field. Among nearly 200 graduates, 22 earned their master's degree and 132 completed their bachelor's degree. As of early May, this graduating class contributed to 8 NCAA National Championships and 13 ACC Championships. On behalf of all Virginia head coaches, Todd DeSorbo, Head Swim- ming & Diving Coach, provided congratulatory wishes for the Class of 2023 as they pursue their next adventures and thanked the families for their longtime support. Each sport took memorable pictures with their teammates and coaches, and all student-athletes received an honor stole to distinguish their contributions to Virginia Athletics as they walked down the Lawn on graduation day.
