Class Of 2024 Scholarship Offer Master List RECRUITING NOTES • Ahead of Shaker Heights (Ohio) High's matchup with Maple Heights (Ohio) High Sept. 14, Blue & Gold Illustrated met with 2025 athlete target Trey McNutt. The four-star recruit has a Notre Dame football offer and has visited campus twice. McNutt — the No. 1 prospect in Ohio, and the No. 4 athlete and No. 60 overall player nationally per On3 — will visit Notre Dame for the Southern California game Oct. 14. In addition to next month's battle for the Jew- eled Shillelagh, McNutt will also be in Ann Arbor for the Ohio State-Michigan game Nov. 25. He went to Penn State Sept. 2 for its clash with West Virginia. However, he has no other game-day visits on the docket. When McNutt returns to South Bend Oct. 14, he will have visited Notre Dame more than any other school. He first visited March 29 with his head coach at Shaker Heights, Alex Nicholson. He returned with his mother June 3. Only Ohio State and Penn State have currently hosted McNutt the same number of times as Notre Dame. McNutt's father is former Ohio State safety Rich- ard McNutt, a three-year letter winner at for the Buckeyes and a starter for the first six games at cornerback for the 2002 national championship team. His uncle is former Ohio State safety Mike Doss, who also played on the 2002 Ohio State team. His mother is also an Ohio State graduate. Still, despite the obvious family ties to the uni- versity and the football program, this recruitment is not a slam dunk for the Buckeyes. Even though Shaker Heights is about 150 miles from Ohio State, McNutt had never visited it until last spring. Nonetheless, this recruitment looks like a battle between Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin. Georgia, USC and Tennessee will also try to make things interesting. • On Sept. 15, Forney (Texas) High three-star 2025 linebacker Kelvion Riggins included Notre Dame on his top 10 schools list. The 5-foot-11½, 205-pounder also listed Baylor, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M. He reports 20 other Power Five scholarship offers. Riggins is the No. 22 linebacker No. 235 overall player in the country according to On3. He has not yet visited Notre Dame but keeps in touch with defensive coordinator Al Golden. • In mid-September, Notre Dame offensive line coach Joe Rudolph offered 2025 offensive tackle Easton Ware a full-ride scholarship. The 6-6, 290-pound Ware participated in the program's Evaluation Camp III June 22. He attends Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy. On3 has not yet rated Ware. However, he re- ports eight other scholarship offers from Power Five programs. — Kyle Kelly Safety target Trey McNutt, the No. 4 athlete and No. 60 overall player in the class of 2025 per On3, picked up a Notre Dame offer on March 17.
