Class Of 2024 Scholarship Offer Master List RECRUITING NOTES • For Notre Dame's game against Ohio State Sept. 23, the Irish hosted a surprise visitor. Garner (N.C.) South Garner defensive lineman Nnamdi Ogboko, a Georgia commit, made his way to South Bend for an official visit. The 6-foot-4½, 355-pound Ogboko is a three-star recruit, the No. 21 pros- pect in North Carolina and the No. 42 defensive lineman nationally per On3. Ogboko spoke to On3's Ethan McDowell about his Notre Dame visit. The trip went about as well as expected. "The highlights of the weekend were meeting a new coaching staff, peo- ple and all the recruits," Ogboko said. "I got to know them. They tell me that if I come here, I'll be playing early and make a big impact on their defense. "The game was crazy. Every time Notre Dame scored, the student section would do shoulder presses with the students; I've never seen anything like that. I liked the game-day walk — when you walk right behind the players. The love the fans showed was great." Although Ogboko is certainly considering the Irish, he said his pledge with the Bulldogs is still strong. "It's still great, still strong," he said. "I talk to the coaches every day, and I talk with the commits in the group chat. It's still a really strong connection." Notre Dame has four defensive line commits in the 2024 cycle. The Irish will continue to push to add Ogboko until National Signing Day. • Four-star 2025 defensive end Christopher Burgess Jr. of Chicago Simeon visited Notre Dame for the sixth time Sept. 23. It was a notable visit for the 6-4, 230-pounder because his mother attended the game with him. It was her first college recruiting visit alongside her son. Burgess, the No. 10 edge rusher and No. 114 overall player nationally ac- cording to On3, previously made his 22 unofficial visits across nine schools with his father. A quintet of Irish coaches, headlined by head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive line coach Al Washington, had been in frequent touch with Burgess' mother going into the visit. Her time on campus was a success. "She loved it," Burgess told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "She loved the pro- gram at Notre Dame, the coaches and the environment." Burgess, On3's No. 2 prospect in Illinois, had an unofficial college recruit- ing visit scheduled to Colorado for Sept. 30. While his trip to check out Deion Sanders' squad will be his first time out West as a recruit, Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State are the teams at the forefront of his recruitment. The Irish have three defensive line commits in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Still, they prioritize Burgess. • On Sept. 27, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2025 linebacker Nasir Wyatt trimmed his list of 24 Power Five scholarship offers to a top eight. The four- star recruit is down to Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Southern California, Tennessee and Texas. Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden offered the 6-3, 205-pounder during the program's Pot of Gold Day recruiting event March 17. On St. Patrick's Day, 65 recruits (including 13 linebackers) re- ported Irish scholarship offers. On3 ranks Wyatt as the No. 1 prospect in California, and No. 1 linebacker and No. 22 overall player in the 2025 cycle. Although he has never visited Notre Dame, Wyatt also has never reported visits to Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas. He has visited USC, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, UCLA, California and Oklahoma. The latter four schools did not make his top eight. — Kyle Kelly Follow @ByKyleKelly on X for daily recruiting updates on BlueandGold.com!
