The Nittany Lions have long been considered the favorites to sign Harvey, but this recruitment has become difficult to read in recent months. Noth- ing would surprise us at this point. Penn State also hosted two players who were committed elsewhere at the time of the game, both of whom have earned three stars in the On3 Industry Ranking. B ra n d o n Re h m a n i s a 6 - fo o t , 190-pound wide receiver prospect from St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia who committed to West Virginia in June. Cam Lindsey, who's listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds, is one of Hayes' teammates at Aliquippa. He committed to Pitt in June. Both players could be ones to watch down the stretch if the Nittany Lions have available scholarships late in the cycle. The list of 2025 prospects was one of the deepest we've ever seen for an up- coming class. Not only did the staff host 34 players who hold Penn State scholar- ship offers, but nearly half of those pros- pects boast four-star grades in the On3 Industry Ranking, which averages the ratings from the four major recruiting services. There was no debate over who was the top player in attendance. That title went to five-star quarterback Bryce Under- wood of Belleville, Mich., the nation's No. 1 overall prospect. It was Underwood's second visit to Penn State. The Nittany Lions have done a good job with the 6-3, 210-pound signal-caller and his family. While LSU, Michigan and Ohio State have all hosted Underwood more frequently than Penn State — Michigan has welcomed him to campus 10 times already — Franklin and the PSU staff are hoping to see him back in State College next spring and host him for an official visit in the summer. Penn State hosted three additional players who rank among the top 100 in the country, including wide receiver Marcus Harris of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, Calif. Listed at No. 32 nationally by On3, Harris also visited Penn State in the spring. The 5-11, 180-pound wideout has attended games at Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and USC dating back to last season. However, he was particularly impressed with the scene at Penn State for the White Out. "That was the best experience I've been to for a game," Harris said. "I've been to other games my freshman year and sophomore year, but that was at the top for real. "Right when I walked in, the stadium was already filled. Walking around and seeing the tailgates and so many fans, I've never seen that many tailgates. It was loud, too. Right from the start, it was really loud. Iowa had to call a couple of timeouts. The energy was really high in there. I've never been to a game like it." The other two top-100 prospects of note were cornerbacks Dorian Brew and Alex Graham. Brew, who attends Conroe High in Texas, visited Penn State for the first time and is ranked No. 66 in the na- tion by On3. The 6-1, 200-pound defen- sive back has ties to Ohio, which is why many expect him to end up at Ohio State. Graham is ranked just behind Brew at No. 67 nationally. A native of Detroit, he now plays at IMG Academy in Florida. "This was definitely the best game- day visit that I've been on," Graham said. "One of the most electric crowds that I've seen in college football so far. It's like one big family there." There were a few other four-star de- fensive prospects in attendance, includ- ing safety Kainoa Winston from Gonzaga in Washington, D.C., edge rusher Cortez Harris from Riverdale Baptist in Upper Marlboro, Md., and linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh from Culpepper, Va. Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep defen- sive lineman Maxwell Roy, from Delran, N.J., also made the trip. Listed at 6-3, 290 pounds, Roy is No. 142 nation- ally according to On3. Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wisconsin are among the top schools Jaylen Harvey, a four-star defensive lineman in the 2024 class, is weighing offers from Penn State, USC and Maryland. He is believed to be planning on making a verbal commitment in October.
