F rom the time he was a sopho- more, Alex Felkins knew how he was going to conclude his col- legiate kicking career. Felkins had been attending Colum- bia since 2019, and right around the time that the Ivy League was getting set to cancel its 2020 season due to COVID-19, the NCAA ruled that ath- letes affected by the pandemic would receive a bonus year of eligibility at the end of their careers. A standout place- kicker from Tulsa, Okla., Felkins was determined to make the most of that opportunity — not just by playing col- lege football for one more year than he'd originally planned, but by playing it on the biggest stage he could find. Stages don't get much bigger than Beaver Stadium. "My goal going into the portal was to pick the best possible program that I could play at to give me that big-time college experience that I'd been dream- ing about for a long time," Felkins ex- plained.
