WR CHANNING GOODWIN Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day Class of 2024 Goodwin may not be the most highly touted prospect in Michigan's 2024 re- cruiting class, but he is one of the more reliable pass catchers nationally. The three-star recruit is a tactical route run- ner, consistently finds ways to get open and has soft hands. Goodwin will likely be a chain-moving slot receiver at the next level, and that's perfectly fine. He did plenty of that in Providence Day's state title victory, recording 9 re- ceptions for 108 yards and a touchdown. Goodwin, the No. 84 wideout nationally and No. 17 prospect in North Carolina in the On3 Industry Ranking, did show im- proved speed and ability after the catch as a senior, but he's at his best as a pure possession receiver. 4. DL JAMES "TANK" CARRINGTON Rabun Gap (Ga.) Gap-Nacoochee Class of 2026 Carrington has already established himself as one of the true elite 2026 re- cruits nationally. Listed as the No. 2 de- fensive lineman and No. 12 overall pros- pect in the country in the On3 Industry Ranking, Carrington is a dominant force in the trenches, displaying tremendous brute strength for his age and the ability to apply constant interior pressure as a pass rusher. At 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Carrington still has an athletic frame with room to add weight. He should be a monster by the time he's a senior. Even now, Car- rington is a game changer and com- manded constant double- and even tri- ple-teams when I saw him live. Michigan offered early and is working to get him on campus. 3. S FAHEEM DELANE Olney (Md.) Good Counsel Class of 2025 An On300 prospect, Delane certainly lived up to his billing, recording sev- eral tackles and a couple of pass break- ups in Good Counsel's 7-0 shutout win over Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha in the Washington Catholic Athletic Confer- ence championship game. At 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Delane is a bigger safety who loves to come down- hill and deliver punishing blows. He's very comfortable playing in the box and was key in run support throughout the contest. Delane also has great natural instincts in pass coverage. Ranked by On3 as the No. 10 safety and No. 107 prospect nationally next cycle, Delane is a special talent on the back end. Michigan offered in the spring but has work to do. 2. OL WILL BLACK Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall Class of 2025 At 6-foot-7, 285 pounds, Black is a towering tackle who uses his size and length to his advantage both in pass protection and as a run blocker. Black gave up zero sacks in Choate's win over Deerfield (Mass.) Academy and also served up plenty of pancakes. He is underrated athletically and has good feet for his size. He also plays with a mean streak and knows how to fin- ish.
