FEBRUARY 2024 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 43 ❱ MICHIGAN FOOTBALL all player and fifth-best linebacker in the NCAA transfer portal at the time of his commitment, according to On3's rank- ings. He registered 59 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 pass breakup and a forced fumble as a fresh- man, playing in 12 games. He was slowed by injury in 2023, seeing time in 10 con- tests, but still recorded 37 stops, 3 sacks, 1 pass breakup and an interception that came at the goal line in a 31-24 loss to Michigan Nov. 18. The Maryland transfer can play the tra- ditional linebacker spot, but the Wolver- ines could also use him as a rusher off the edge. He saw 392 snaps in the box and 99 along the defensive line this season. He also lined up over the slot on seven plays. Barham hails from Baltimore, having attended St. Frances Academy, the same powerhouse that produced Michigan running back Blake Corum and edge Derrick Moore. Barham was the No. 145 overall player and No. 11 linebacker in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Priebe, meanwhile, is a reinforce- ment on a Michigan offensive line that lost its top six players to the NFL. In four seasons at Northwestern, the 6-6, 310-pounder played in 38 games with 28 starts, logging 1,785 offensive snaps, 1,739 of which came at left guard. He opened 12 outings this past sea- son, registering a 61.5 overall Pro Foot- ball Focus grade, including a 60.4 mark in pass protection with 17 pressures and 4 sacks allowed. The Niles (Mich.) Ed- wardsburg product was named third- team All-Big Ten, helping lead the Wildcats to an 8-5 record and their first bowl game appearance since 2020. Priebe, who has one year of eligibility remaining, was a three-star recruit and the No. 422 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. — Clayton Sayfie SIX WOLVERINES ENTER TRANSFER PORTAL In addition to sophomore running back CJ Stokes, who entered the transfer portal Dec. 11 and committed to Char- lotte Jan. 10, Michigan saw five more players depart the program for the op- portunity to play elsewhere. Graduate linebacker Joey Velazquez and freshman cornerback Cameron Calhoun entered Dec. 28, while sopho- more wide receiver Darrius Clemons (Jan. 10), sophomore cornerback Amo- rion Walker (Jan. 11) and senior tight end Matthew Hibner (Jan. 16) all decided to leave after the Wolverines' national championship-winning campaign. Velazquez did not appear in a game this season for Michigan, but he did play in 20 contests throughout his five-year career. A dual-sport athlete, Velazquez competed in 100 games on the diamond and helped the Wolverines' baseball team win the 2022 Big Ten Tournament title. A former three-star recruit out of Cincinnati Winton Woods, Calhoun saw time in two games for the Wolver- ines this season (UNLV and Bowling Green). Clemons appeared in 22 tilts over two seasons with the Maize and Blue, 11 in each of the last two years. He totaled 4 catches for 40 yards in limited action. Walker, a converted wide receiver, battled a leg injury early in the 2023 season, before competing in six games and registering 3 tackles, including a half-stop for loss, and 1 pass breakup. He hauled in 1 catch for 4 yards as a freshman in 2022. Hibner appeared in 28 career outings at Michigan, primarily competing on special teams. He totaled 2 catches for 15 yards. — Clayton Sayfie MICHIGAN'S OFFSEASON PERSONNEL MOVES Coming* Name Pos. Elig. Ht. Wt.
