Only one team in the country — Notre Dame — had more. With so many spring visits taking place in March and April, plus official visits still to come in June, the Nit- tany Lions could have their class all but wrapped up by the time preseason camp begins. That was the case last year, too, with PSU adding only one commitment, from four-star defensive end Jaylen Harvey, after mid-July. Offensively, Penn State holds seven commitments so far, and the staff is also in the mix with talented players at each position group. The Nittany Lions could realistically still add players at all five spots. Defensively, there's more work to be done. With the possible exception of linebacker, where three players are al- ready committed, the Lions still need additional manpower at each position group. With the Blue-White Game now just weeks away, these are the players to keep an eye on at each position: QUARTERBACK Projected Take: 1-2 Penn State already holds a commit- ment from Colorado native Bekkem Kritza, a three-star prospect accord- ing to On3, but that hasn't stopped new offensive coordinator Andy Ko- telnicki from pursuing a second quar- terback in this class. As of mid-March, Matt Zollers of Royersford, Pa., was the staff's top target. Zollers enjoyed an excellent junior season at Spring-Ford High, amassing more than 3,400 yards of total offense and 44 touchdowns. He has already narrowed his list down to Georgia, Mis- souri, Pitt and Penn State and is plan- ning to visit each of those schools one more time this spring before announc- ing his commitment. Listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Zollers is the No. 3 quarterback and No. 17 overall prospect in the country and No. 1 in Pennsylvania according to On3. "I think his combination of size, arm talent and athleticism is among the best in the cycle," On3 scouting di- rector Charles Power said. "He's 6-3 and a half, 200 pounds, and he tested great last offseason on the Elite 11 cir- cuit. He has a big arm, too, but what I like the most is that he plays to all those Penn State's Work Far From Finished In 2025 Cycle RYA N S N Y D E R | RYA N . S N Y D E R @ O N 3 .
