C O M J ulian Fleming accomplished plenty during his time at Ohio State, but the former Pennsylvania high school standout decided he was ready for a fresh start after four seasons in Columbus. Fol- lowing the 2023 campaign, he packed up his belongings, along with a college stat sheet that includes 80 catches for 990 yards and 7 touchdowns, and then hit the transfer portal. A month later, Fleming committed to Penn State, the program he had passed up years earlier. The senior wide receiver arrived in State College in time for the start of the spring semester in mid-Janu- ary and went to work with his new team, looking to make a positive first impression on both teammates and coaches. By all accounts, he succeeded. "Julian has done a really good job," coach James Franklin said during win- ter workouts. "Like with most scenarios, whether it's a job or a team you're join- ing, the first thing you do is keep your mouth shut and your ears open and put your head down and go to work and earn everybody's respect. Over time, gradu- ally, you start to become more vocal, if that's part of your leadership style and personality. I think he's done a good job with that." Second Wind Transfer receiver Julian Fleming looks to accelerate his career by joining the program he bypassed coming out of high school GREG PICKEL | G R E G . P I C K E L @ O N 3 .C O M
