UVA Opens The Molly And Robert
Hardie Football Operations Center
On June 6, the opening ceremony was held to unveil Virginia's new
Molly and Robert Hardie Football Operations Center. A keystone to the
UVA Master Plan, the massive 93,000-square-foot facility becomes
UVA football's new home after the program spent the past 33 years in
the McCue Center.
The grand opening drew rave reviews from the players, coaches,
members of the Board of Visitors and others who toured the building,
which will be dedicated exclusively to the Cavalier football program.
"Football is a game that's all about the team," Fralin Family Head
Football Coach Tony Elliott said. "In order to build a team, you have to
have time, space, and opportunity. The new football operations facility
is going to provide us what we need to compete as a team.
"The upgrades in technology and strength and conditioning, nutrition
and sports medicine will allow us to be on the cutting edge."
